Badshahs Continue their Triumphs With win Over Champs!

This series is proving to be really superb for the Lahore Badshahs with their continuous wins over all their competitors as of now. This match, 15th in the Edelweiss series, saw the Lahore Badshahs grasp a 50-run win over the Mumbai Champs and also the highest individual score in ICL which was made by Hasan Raza, who scored 98 runs.

The toss was won by the Badshahs who chose to bat. The opening of the match itself was quite shaking for the Champs when a six was hit on the second ball and the next over saw two more boundaries. Imran Nazir was however bowled out by Van der Wath on his score of 10. Humayan Farhat who came in next was given leg before wicket and sent back at a score of 1 run. Raza came in next and the course of the match seems to have changed then.  Huge hits, sixes and fours were hit across the ropes and he piled on his runs. Players at the other end kept changing faces; Inzamam was caught on 11 and Latif on 14 but Raza had no stoppage. He went to score 98 runs when the innings finished and remained unbeaten.

Only something extra-ordinary would have saved the team from defeat. However this could not happen. Wickets kept falling very frequently and even the captain, Astle could not do more than just 12 runs. Players added small scores to the board but those were not enough to fetch them a win. Only one player could add more than 30 runs to the board. The team finished off at 137 in the 20 overs with the match credited to the Lahore Badshahs. Raza undoubtedly got the Man of the Match.
