ICL Match Reviews

Badshahs prove their supremacy yet again!

The team of Lahore Badshahs and their performance in the series of Twenty20 matches by Indian Cricket League can be described in just one word, “invincible”. Their performance as been unbeaten so far and this is another time when they emerged victorious. This time it was against the Chandigarh Lions. This match was termed as the Battle of the Punjab because both these cities are capitals of Punjab in India and Pakistan and we have seen who emerged the winner.

Badshahs batted first Imran Farhat and Imran Nazir opening strike for them. It took some sixes, a few fours and many singles before Imran Nazir was sent back to the pavilion by Hall and the score was 51 for 1 wicket. Humayun Farhat came in and the brothers kept scoring boundaries and rotating strike. The next wicket was of Imran at the end of 16 overs but only after he had scored 94 off just 54 balls. The remaining men came in and were keen on scoring as much as they could and the innings ended at 187 for six. Hall and Tuffey both took three wickets each and showed some great performance.

Openers Elliott and Vincent both got out without scoring any run before the first over ended. Singh and Sharma were now seen to do some wonder and they did none by scoring 23 and 20 runs respectively before they got out. Mongia came in and managed to score 35 runs but Chetan Sharma could not do much with his 2 runs.  Hall again performed well with his 32 runs but that wasn’t enough to win. The total runs scored by Lions were 149 runs when the innings ended.

Imran Farhat was undoubtedly the right choice for the Man of the Match.
