ICL Match Reviews

Chennai Superstars win, Vignesh hero of the Day!

The morning of 23rd March 23 saw the Mumbai Champs face a defeat which will be called a very low performance act by the team. The winners of the day, the Chennai Superstars won the match easily by 9 wickets with 44 balls still remaining with them.

The Mumbai Champs batted first and this decision was chosen by them on winning the toss. The decision may have been considered beneficial but after the fall of wickets started to happen, this decision was criticized keeping in mind the strength of the Chennai Superstars team.

Jadhav and Jayantha came in to bat for the opening of the team and things were moving on slowly but smoothly. It was when Jadhav was run out by Syed that the team started to feel the heat. This happened in the fifth over and after this, the rest of the players were seen to be leaving the field after every couple of overs. Jadhav scored the highest of 28 runs. A few players scored runs in the twenties after great struggle. But the rest greatly disappointed. Four wickets were taken by Kumaran by giving away 14 runs in 4 overs.

It seemed to be a very easy win when the players of the Chennai Superstars came in to bat with Harvey and Vignesh to open strike. Vignesh was the first one to go off the field when he was caught off Patil’s ball. But he still managed to pull off a very fast 61 runs over 30 balls. The game was finished by Harvey and Sathish who scored 31 and 29 runs. Vignesh was awarded the Man of the Match award for his fastest 50 in the ICL off just 17 balls.
