Heroes Win Against Rockets, Absolem Steals the Show!

The Superstars from Chennai have proved themselves yet again and this time it is by a big margin of 56 runs. It was the Delhi Giants who could not play up to the mark. R Sathish was declared Man of the Match for his 62 runs off just 46 runs.

In spite of winning the toss and electing to field first, the team of Delhi Giants could not prove themselves in front of the Chennai Superstars. The team of Delhi Giants in order to win should have honed their batting skills better. Gunawardene who has performed well till now in the series and Mishra too opened strike for the team of Giants. Gunawardene however went off in the sixth over with 17 runs and left Attapattu on strike. Marwan Attapattu could manage just 5 runs and lost his wicket soon. Ali came and went back without scoring and the next one to follow him was opener Mishra who made 38 runs. Average performance was delivered by middle order batsmen and the lower order disappointed badly. The score of the team was just 124 runs when they were chasing a target of 181.

As far as the innings of the Superstars is concerned, they played fairly well. Harvey and Vignesh opened strike but could not score much. Arnold came in but very soon saw Badani leave the field. Then along with the support of the next player Sathish, Arnold could once again breathe easy. Both the players had a partnership of 97 runs and built a strong score for the Giants to chase which ultimately led them to a defeat.
