| Rains Disrupt Play, Kolkata Tigers win Revised Target!
In a game which was interrupted by the rains and the target was cut short, we saw the Kolkata Tigers achieve the win against the Ahmedabad Rockets easily. The target was revised due to rains and was brought down to 85 runs to be scored in 10 overs. This target was achieved by the Tigers when they still had 8 balls to go. Adams was awarded the Man of the Match for his great bowling spell of 4 overs.
The Tigers were batting when the rains started and the play was disrupted. It was the second innings and the Tigers might be considered to be lucky as they didn’t have to press too hard for the win. Openers Das and Klusner were playing and the game was stopped. After the rains, the revised target of 85 runs might have brought relief for Tigers. But Das got out soon after scoring just 17 runs. Klusner went on to play with Jhunjhunwala at the other end. The latter however got out after making 15 runs. Macmillan came in after him and he and Klusner won the match for their team.
The batting line up of the Rockets did not have any splendid performances to reminisce. Openers Hinds and Martyn scored 8 and 4 runs respectively. Goodwin managed to get to double figures and scored 16 runs. Aziz was out on a score of 27. Jain and Sanjeev scored in twenties and could not do any wonder. The highest scorer of the team was Sriram who scored 52 runs and remained unbeaten till the end of the innings. Adams managed a good spell of 4 overs where he took a wicket and managed a maiden as well. |
