Simplistic win for the Superstars against the Mumbai Champs
In the match between the Chennai Superstars and Mumbai Champs, the Superstars scored an easy win again against the competitors by 9 wickets with a good number of 44 balls remaining with them. The star of the team was Vignesh who broke the record of Chris Cairns by making the fastest half century on just 17 balls.
The performance of the Mumbai Champs was very low for the people who expected them to play well. It was not up to the mark in any way. The Champs had won the toss and had chosen to bat first but that did not benefit them in any way. It was after the wicket of opener Jadhav was lost in the fifth over that the team began to lose it. Wickets kept falling very regularly after that and the team was just struggling to make their presence in the field. The highest score by the Champs players was 28 by Jadhav itself. The rest of the team struggled for runs and a total of insufficient 123 runs were made by the Mumbai Champs. Kumaran managed a 4 wicket haul against the Champs.
The openers Harvey and Vignesh came out to bat after the innings break and had a very good partnership and got 81 runs before Vignesh was caught in the ninth over by Jayantha off Patil’s delivery. He scored 61 runs on just 30 balls. Sathish came in after that and scored a hurried 29 runs on just 17 balls. These batsmen led the team to a facile victory. Vignesh was awarded the Man of the Match for his innings of 61 runs. |
