| ICL since its inception on March 3, 2007 has held two tournaments so far involving both domestic and international cricket players. Ahmedabad Rockets which is one of the new additions to its original 6 teams, with the aim to take the ambition of the league a step further.
The helm of this team is held by the Australian cricket player, Damien Martyn. Amidst other members of this team are inclusive of Murray Goodwin (Zimbabwe), Heath Streak (Zimbabwe), Jason Gillespie (Australia), Abhishek Tamrakar (India), Anshu Jain (India), Baburao Yadav (India), Sachin Dholpure (India), Rakesh Patel (India), Pallav Vora (India), Reetinder Sodhi (India), P. Bhima Rao (India), Sanjeev Martin (India), Sriram Sridharan (India), and Sumit Kalia (India). The ICL Ahmedabad Rockets would be coached by John Emburey. Some of the names comprising of the supporting staff of this teams include Andrew Gray (strength and conditioning coach), Angela Cadogan (physiotherapist), Carl Jacobs (massage therapist). With the formation of this team as well as the Lahore Badshahs, the league looks towards further promoting the domestic cricket scenario at an international level.
