| With the likes of Stuart Law (AUS) as captain, Chennai Superstars will be heading for their first match versus Kolkata Tigers on December 1, 2007. Stuart Law is known for his cool attitude towards cricket yet performing when the team needed him. He was also selected as one amongst the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1998. Other notable team members of Chennai Superstars will be Russel Arnold (SRI) and Ian Harvey (Aus). Russel is a left-handed batsman and is known for his ice cool temperament.
Notable international cricket players in Chennai Superstars will include Ian Harvey (Aus), Chris Read (Eng), Shabbir Ahmed (Pak). Chennai Superstars will be coached by former Australian player Michael Bevan. He was part of the team that won Cricket World Cup in 1999 and 2003. He has been nicknamed “The Finisher” for the unbeaten batting he had done in his entire career. Though Michael Bevan was successful in his one day career, he got a beating almost every time he went for test cricket. It remains to be seen whether he succeeds in his new avatar as coach of Chennai Superstars.
Indian international players H Badani, Sridharan Sriram and T Kumaran will also be a part of Chennai Superstars. Other players of Chennai Superstars are either Ranji Trophy players or players with exceptional gaming skills.
