| Mumbai Champs will be led by ‘Prince of Trinidad’ Brian Lara. His inclusion in the team will give a great fillip to the morale of the team-mates. With a star performer like Lara in Mumbai Champs, the team must perform to its abilities. Lara holds the record for highest run in test cricket and first class cricket. He also holds the record for highest total number of runs in test career. He has captained the national side however, his stint as captain was not much successful. It remains to be seen whether this time, he succeeds as captain of Mumbai Champs or not.
Presence of ‘The Prince’ in the Mumbai Champs team overshadows another great batsman Nathan Astle (NZ) in it. Vikram Solanki (Eng), J Van Der Wath (SA), and Nantie Hayward (SA) are cricket players from abroad in Mumbai Champs. They are likely give the team a great firepower when needed. Team coach of Mumbai Champs will be Sandip Patil. He used to bat in middle order and was used to bowl medium pacers. He also played for Edmonton in between 1979 and 1980 and for Somerset B later year. Sandip Patil also had a stint as a coach of Kenyan National team.
Mumbai Champs has upcoming cricket stars like Robin Morries, Rakesh Patel, Kiran Powar, and Avinash Yadav from India too.
