Indian Cricket League ICL is a private cricket league running parallel to the BCCI, the autonomous body governing cricket in India. It was formed by the ESSEL group under the leadership of Subhash Chandra as a counter attack to the BCCI.

The Indian Cricket League ICL is a Rs. 100 crore project making it the richest cricket league in India. Its headquarters is in Mumbai. The Indian Cricket League aims to improve the standards of Indian cricket in the future. Its purpose is to make India one of the most successful teams in the world.
The Indian Cricket League ICL consists of different teams, which includes both national and international players. Some of the star attractions of this league are Brian Lara, Mohammad Yusuf, Abdul Razzak, Injamam ul Haq, Lance Kluesner and Nicky Boje.
Some of the national players are Dinesh Mongia, Reetinder Singh Sondhi, T Kumaran and Ambati Rayadu.
The Indian Cricket League ICL also aims to set up academies all throughout the country. These academies would be helpful for the talented players of the nation to get adequate training. The players would be formed in to 6 teams which would be competing with each other in the Twenty20 matches of the Indian Cricket League for prize money of $1 million.
